Student Eligibility: Academic Eligiblity

1. A candidate can attempt JEE only twice, in consecutive years. Candidates who have passed (10+2) or equivalent qualifying examination in 2007 or will be appearing in 2008, and secure 60% or more [55% or more for SC/ST and Persons with Physical Disability (PD)] marks in aggregate in their respective Board Examination are eligible. If any Board awards only letter-grades, the candidate should obtain a certificate from the Board specifying equivalent percentage marks.
2. Candidates should not have accepted admission by paying full fees at any of the IITs, IT-BHU, Varanasi, and ISMU, Dhanbad through JEE.
3. Only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or after October 1, 1983 are eligible for JEE-2008. However, in case of SC/ST and PD candidates, the upper age limit is relaxed by five years, i.e. SC/ST and PD candidates born on or after October 1, 1978 are eligible.
